As specialist personal injury solicitors we have prepared this short article and case study showing how to make an injury claim against a school. The injury claim is made by or on behalf of the accident victim. If it was a child who was injured then an adult will make the claim on their behalf. To illustrate what is involved, here is a brief case study of a real-life injury claim against a school that we have recently concluded.

Making a school injury claim

As specialist personal injury solicitors we have prepared this short article and case study showing how to make an injury claim against a school.

Who can make an injury claim against a school?

The injury claim is made by or on behalf of the accident victim.

If it was a child who was injured then an adult will make the claim on their behalf.

How to make an injury claim against a school case study

To illustrate what is involved, here is a brief case study of a real-life injury claim against a school that we have recently concluded:

The claim was brought by the parents of a 16 year old girl who was injured during her Duke of Edinburgh Award training course organised by her school.

She suffered injury during the training course. However, she was not given appropriate medical treatment and simply encouraged to carry on. By the end of the course her symptoms were much worse. She required physiotherapy and the symptoms persisted for several months.

We agreed to deal with the claim on a No Win No Fee basis. We argued that the school should have taken greater precautions and removed her from the course when she first complained of pain.

Although the claim was defended an out of court settlement was eventually reached and a sum of compensation paid.

Funding legal fees

If you want to make an injury claim against a school then assuming the legal case is a good one we will be able to fund the legal costs on a No Win No Fee basis. This removes the element of financial risk and gives you the peace of mind of knowing that if the case is not successful you wont have to pay anything.

Will I have to go to court?

We will investigate the case, contact the school and see whether an out of court settlement can be reached without the need for court action. Court proceedings are generally a last resort and very few cases end in a trial.
